Berita Harian profiles Ms Nurni Kamin, 46, who stopped work around 2018 and is now the main caregiver for her 79-year-old mother, who was diagnosed in 2025 with mild to moderate vascular dementia. After a two-week hospital stay in 2024 left her worried about her mother's care, a medical social worker linked her to the social service agency Club Heal for caregiver programmes, and an enhanced home personal care service under AIC (HPC+) now lets her take short breaks while trained carers look after her mother.
